Sameba, or the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Georgia. It’s an enormous Orthodox cathedral that dominates the skyline of Tbilisi, the capital city. Completed in 2004, it’s relatively new compared to many historic churches in the region.
The cathedral is known for its grandiose architecture, with golden domes and a central location atop Elia Hill, offering panoramic views of the city. It’s not only a religious site but also a cultural and architectural symbol for the Georgian Orthodox Church and the country as a whole. Inside, the cathedral’s interior is beautifully adorned with frescoes and religious artwork, drawing visitors and worshippers alike.
